Last year I was luckily invited to watch the first ever online Press Launch of Red Horse Beer’s Pambansang Muziklaban for their 13th year. For those who doesn’t know what this event is all about, Red Horse Beer’s Pambansang Muziklaban is the Rock event of Red Horse Beer held yearly, which is now on its 13th year. It is a culmination of the annual amateur rock band competition that gathers rock music aficionados, tattoo artists and extreme sports athletes. It is the gathering of the best of the best in the Pinoy Rock industry as Red Horse brings together artists from different generations in a “Rakenrol Circus show” like no other. By the way the finals will be on 28 January 2012.
During this event, the five semi-finalists of the 2011 Muziklaban Rock Challenge from all over the Philippines will compete for the Grand Champion title. Watch out as your rock idols headed by Reg Rubio of Greyhoundz, Ian Tayao of Wilabaliw, Jamir Garcia of Slapshock, Kevin Roy of Razorback and Marc Abaya of Kjwan collaborate with the semi-finalists to test their mettle.

- David vs. Goliath – Davao City
A fusion of Rock artists is expected as generations of Rockers set the stage ablaze, beginning with Pinoy Rock Icon’s Pepe Smith and his band – Juan dela Cruz and Maria Cafra. Move to the 80’s and hear hitmakers: The Dawn and Freddie Aguilar, do a rock rendition. The 90’s ushers in Ely Buendia, Greyhoundz and Slapshock. Until we hit the new millennium, when Muziklaban was born – - – and continues to shape the landscape of Pinoy Rock by recruiting from grassroots future rock gods.
